Entrepreneurs generally do not make good managers of public companies. That was the opinion of Stelios Haji-Ioannou, founder of easyGroup, who was speaking to 250 attendees at the Institute of Risk Management annual lecture in London. Mr Haji-Ioannou told the audience that entrepreneurial risk should be the realm of an individual or small group of people, using their own or venture-capital money, but that once a business became a public company, it needed professional management. He added that
