Brit Insurance is something of an anomaly in the UK insurance market. The large composite players dominate the sector and there are a plethora of smaller underwriting vehicles filling the gaps that the retrenchment and consolidation of the larger insurers left behind. Traditionally, the composites have focused on large-scale business while the small underwriters have concentrated on service and niche products.
