Cuts to HSE inspection regime offer an opportunity for brokers

A paper from the Department for Work and Pensions (DWP) has confirmed that the Health and Safety Executive (HSE) will be reducing its proactive inspections by one third, a cut of approximately 11,000 inspections per year.

With the budget for the HSE decreasing by 35% over the next four years it has also been revealed that the organisation will look to share more costs with those businesses creating the risks. A spokesperson for the HSE said it was not currently commenting on how this will be achieved.
