The president of the Ipswich, Suffolk and North Essex Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) has been forced to make a written apology to top table guests and sponsors following a controversial speech made by the guest speaker at the institute's annual dinner.

Insurance Age understands that the speech delivered by Damian Glynn, head of financial risks at loss adjuster Teceris, was not well received by a number of guests, with some walking out and one publicly berating him for "taking the industry
