The Chartered Insurance Institute (CII) confirmed that it would not seek powers to confer degrees, and would maintain its status as a professional awarding body. Following a 12-month review, the CII's membership highlighted that greater value was attached to its professional and vocational qualifications, which are seen to be more relevant than academic degrees.
