Motor insurer Link's parent company was close to closing a deal for third-party administrator Rubicon Insurance Solutions as Insurance Age went to press.

Guardian Holdings, which also own Zenith, was in negotiations with Kroll to buy the business after it was put into administration on 24 January.

Despite interest from other parties, Guardian hoped to close a deal for RIS, which handles Link's policy and claims administration, by the end of the month to ease any potential disruption to its broker
