The Financial Services Authority (FSA) has said that it will look favourably on members of the General Insurance Standards Council (Gisc) and Insurance Brokers' Registration Council (IBRC) when authorising brokers. Sarah Wilson, director of FSA's high street firms division, said applications from members in good standing with these bodies will receive "a level of scrutiny which reflects the standards set by them".
