Bumper profits for the Broker Network are the result of the company's 'hands-off' approach to businesses it acquires, its chief executive has said.

Announcing a 73% increase in pre-tax profits to £1.315m, ceo Grant Ellis hailed the Broker Network's mentality, which allowed businesses to be autonomous.

He said: "We let the brokers have their own identity - from the outside it looks like nothing has changed, but we move the administration to the centre, put in new IT and allow the brokers to focus
