Cox is nearly under the complete control of former chief executive Neil Utley, who says he wants the insurer to make more acquisitions once his takeover is finalised.
Mr Utley's financial vehicle, Fieldstreet, had received acceptances for 80% of the motor specialist's share capital, or 250 million shares, at the time of going to press. Just 75% of the shares are needed to takeover the firm, but Mr Utley said he still wanted 90%, which would allow him to compulsorily purchase the remaining shares
