NU loses 950 staff
Norwich Union (NU) announced plans to shed 900 jobs across both life and non-life business, with 630 going in its general insurance business - half of them compulsory. Up to 300 jobs are to go in Norwich, with the former Commercial Union head office in Perth also losing 60 staff and Worthing, originally a London & Edinburgh office, losing 40 jobs. Other general insurance job cuts - over 200 in total - will be spread across the company's UK offices, NU said.
