The British Insurance Brokers' Association (Biba) has been inundated with calls from brokers still confused about the European Union's Distance Marketing Directive (DMD).

The directive, which came into effect on 31 October under the Financial Services Authority's (FSA) delegation, relates to the 'distance' sales of insurance and other financial services products over the internet or the telephone.
