ABI fears complaints data could be "misleading"

The Association of British Insurers says complaints data published by the Financial Services Authority must be taken in context

The Association of British Insurers (ABI) has aired concerns that regulator complaints data could be “misleading”.

As reported on Broking.co.uk, the Financial Services Authority has published aggregate financial services complaints data for the first time in a bid to increase transparency.

However, Maggie Craig, the ABI’s director of consumer strategy, said the data must be taken in context.

She said: “The ABI’s member companies understand that consumers need meaningful information to help them
