NIG raids Axa, Hiscox and Travelers for regional underwriter chiefs

NIG has appointed seven area underwriting managers - including senior hires from Axa, Hiscox and Travelers - as part of a regional small to medium sized enterprise (SME) push.

NIG said the move aims to strengthen the knowledge and skills of its local underwriters and devolve more underwriting decision making to its ‘regional centres of excellence’.

It follows last year's appointment of Dave Parry as director of sales and distribution in NIG’s commercial and broker leadership team as well as seven area business managers.

Reporting to Steve Symonds, NIG’s head of regional underwriting, the area underwriting managers will be responsible for strengthening relationships
