Complaints about GI intermediaries on the rise
The number of complaints against general insurance intermediaries has increased by 1,000 to 144,975 in the second half of 2009, compared to H1 2009, according to FSA figures.
The Financial Services Authority's aggregate complaint statistics, which are published every six months, shows that the number of complaints closed by general insurance intermediaries has fallen from 145,829 in H1 2009 to 125,723 in H2 2009.
Some 118,530 of general insurance intermediary complaints were closed within eight weeks, compared to 131,644 in H1 2009, while 42,100 were upheld in H2 2009 (H1 2009: 47,447).
