NIG exit sparks RSA return to personal lines
RSA has expressed a renewed appetite for personal lines business after admitting it had previously been "deliberately underweight" in this area.
Speaking to Insurance Age's sister title Post, RSA's chief executive, Adrian Brown, said the firm would look to capitalise on NIG's withdrawal from personal lines, adding that a key driver for growth was last year's return to RSA of Steve Kingshott from NIG as director of personal lines broker.
It came as the insurer reported a 9% rise in net written premium in the first half of 2010 to £1.5bn.
In commercial, overall premiums were up 9% to £865m on last year while in personal, premiums were up
