Lloyds TSB tops FOS general insurance complaint table

Lloyds TSB Bank has received more Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) general insurance complaints than any other individual financial business - with 8,474 new cases during H1 2010.

Barclays Bank, Black Horse, Welcome Financial Services and Bank of Scotland came next with 2,205, 1,876, 1,608, 1,548 general insurance complaints respectively.

Aviva received 580 new complaints while Axa had 532 and Direct Line Insurance 478.

FSCS gives first insight on increasing levy to £394m

The Financial Services Compensation Scheme has indicated its levy for 2025/26 will rise to £394m from £265m this financial year as it cited having lower surpluses to carry forward and offset bills – a factor that has benefited brokers for two years in a row.
