Fortis takes on travel customers in five-year deal

Fortis UK has announced it is to expand its existing partnership with Tesco Bank as part of a five-year deal worth around £59m in gross written premiums (GWPs).

In addition to the previously announced £500m GWP partnership that sees Fortis handling motor and household insurance for Tesco Bank's 1.5 million customers, the insurers will also provide the underwriting, claims management, and sales and service support to its travel insurance customers.

Fortis UK will start to underwrite Tesco Travel Insurance policies by the end of the year. The insurers said the five-year agreement was worth around £59m in GWP, with Tesco Travel Insurance attracting around
