New MGA trade body to help members stand out from crowd
The Managing General Agents’ Association (MGAA), has revealed that it is aiming to make a clear differentiation between its members and the broking community as it called for prospective members and funding support ahead of its official launch in November 2010.
Chair of MGAA's steering committee Reg Brown said he wanted to clear the "mist of confusion" surrounding what an MGA actually was and what it did.
"A MGA represents the insurer; it is an intermediary for sure but not a broker. We are not a trade association for brokers with binding authorities as they are already looked after by the British Insurance Broker Association and the Institute of Insurance Brokers.
