Moorhouse online arm set to write £50m GWP

Welsh broker Moorhouse's online commercial arm Constructaquote is aiming to write £50m of gross written premium (GWP) by the end of 2013.

Chairman and chief executive Lyndon Wood said the firm had taken a range of measures to ensure it "closes the gap with its rivals".

The broker is seeking to raise £6m to be spread across the three years to invest in a variety of marketing initiatives for Constructaquote.

Moorhouse said the additional capital could come from insurers on its panel or possibly from private equity.
