Enterprise Rent-A-Car denies it wants brokers out of claims process

Enterprise Rent-A-Car has called for an amendment to the Road Traffic Act to ensure reporting of accidents to insurers, even in cases where the at-fault driver has admitted liability, is made mandatory.

In a paper it submitted to the Transport Select Committee's (TSC) inquiry into the cost of motor insurance, the accident management company has demanded a more robust regulatory approach to case management and, if the committee chooses to change the Act, it will become illegal for a client to send claims to a broker.

A source told Insurance Age that the proposed change would benefit Enterprise as it worked closely with a number of insurers.
