Reed in as MD as Blanc's restructure puts 114 jobs in jeopardy

Axa Commercial Lines CEO Amanda Blanc has merged the insurer's specialist markets and solution and distribution branches and appointed Matthew Reed to lead the new division as MD of intermediary and direct.

As a result of the restructure there will be 114 potential redundancies.

Ms Blanc commented: "I regret having to lose any member of staff and it is essential to me that everyone is treated with dignity and respect throughout the process. We have done all we can to minimise the impact on individuals but unfortunately some tough decisions have had to be made."

After 18 months as CEO at Powerplace, Mr Reed is to take up his new role in the summer and will be responsible for the insurer intermediary
