Jack Straw attacks referral fee system

Former Secretary of State for Justice, Jack Straw MP, has called for referral fees to be banned in an article published in The Times.

Mr Straw said that the no-win, no-fee system needed to be speedily reformed, as Lord Justice Jackson's 2010 review recommended and that the law on damages for whiplash should be changed to require proof of serious injury.
