Biba slams Zurich Municipal over anti-broker marketing

The British Insurance Brokers’ Association (Biba) has hit out at Zurich over the content of a Zurich Municipal advert urging customers to “cut out the middle man”.

The advert for the insurer's direct town and parish council offering, administrated by Tennyson Insurance, appeared in The Clerk Magazine, a magazine for the Society of Local Council Clerks, and asked ""Why pay more?"

It urges potential clients to "cut out the middle man" and save money by going to Zurich direct.

Eric Galbraith, chief executive at Biba, expressed his disappointment with the advert saying it a very big step backwards.

"Instead of promoting good professional independent advice
