NIG has appointed Stewart McConachie as senior business development manager from Aviva with a remit to boost its broker-only business opportunities and product development.

The provider said it was looking to position itself as the ‘first-choice' commercial insurance brand in the broker space and was focused on the London region as a core market.

Mr McConachie spent over two years at Aviva working on business development prior to which he worked in the broking industry, including a stint at Marsh and more recently at John Lampier & Son.

He will report to David Parry, director of sales and distribution at NIG Commercial and will be based in Fenchurch Street.
