Chartis closes door on new solicitors' PI business
As the annual solicitors’ professional indemnity renewal date looms, the market leader, Chartis UK, has announced that it will not be writing any new business in this sector.
The decision comes after Chartis, among other insurers such as Zurich, slammed the Solicitors' Regulation Authority's (SRA) plans to reform the Assigned Risk Pool (ARP).
Latest figures from the SRA show that Chartis' current percentage participation of the ARP stands at 17.4%, up from 15.3% in the same period last year.
