FOS names and shames PPI providers
The Financial Ombudsman Service (FOS) has named the providers of payment protection insurance (PPI) cases as it announced that complaints more than doubled to 98,632 in the first six months of 2011 compared to the second half of 2010.
The data revealed that Lloyds TSB Bank topped the PPI complaint league with 16,965 cases followed by 12,862 from Barclays Bank and 9,945 at Bank of Scotland.
Lloyds TSB General Insurance also came in 25th place with 220 cases followed closely by Norton Insurance Services with 187, Pinnacle Insurance with 173 and Aviva Insurance UK with 152.
Other providers listed included Axa which had 32 cases, Legal and General Insurance with 23 and Allianz Insurance with 22.
