AM Best confirms RSA's 'A' rating

RSA has had its ‘A’ rating for financial strength confirmed by AM Best.

The ratings company said the confirmation reflected RSA’s consistently profitable operating performance and excellent business profile in its core markets.

The insurer’s underwriting performance was singled out as it managed to turn a profit despite large losses in New Zealand, Japan, Canada, Denmark, Ireland and Thailand.

Industry reacts to discount rate change
