Ex Footman James boss to lead JLT’s MGA

Former Footman James boss Paul Matthews has been recruited as CEO of JLT-owned Thistle Insurance Services.

According to sister title Postonline, Mr Matthews will take over the position at the managing general agency from international chairman James Twining in July.

Mr Twining has been filling the role on an interim basis since Adrian Girling stepped down from his day-to-day management role at the MGA in January.

The news came as JLT reported a 13% increase in profits before tax to £147.6m for 2011.
