uncovering-fraud-header

A bogus broker has been charged with insurance fraud by the City of London Police.

Local press reported that officers from the Insurance Fraud Enforcement Department (IFED) had been investigating complaints that a man acting as an insurance broker was selling insurance at reduced premiums.

The 31 year-old man allegedly obtained the cheap premiums by misrepresenting the risk and providing the insurance company with forged documents.

Victims were then charged more than the actual cost of the premium and also made to pay a handling fee.

The man is accused of conducting the fraud
