Markel takes on ex-Chubb underwriter

Markel UK has appointed Simon Webster as technical underwriter with the responsibility of expanding its specialty liability account.

Mr Webster previously spent 12 years at Chubb Insurance in the roles of senior underwriter and developer in respect to life science and technology package business.

Simon Fell, managing director for Markel UK, said: "We are delighted to welcome Simon on board and look forward to harnessing his wealth of knowledge and experience which will be invaluable in building upon our proposition for UK based companies operating in the specialist medical, pharmaceutical and associated sectors."
