Broker Expo: Regional structure here to stay
Empowered regional underwriters are here to stay, according to experts on a panel discussion at the Broker Expo in Coventry.
At the event - hosted by Insurance Age - where brokers do business, representatives of Axa, Covéa and XL all confirmed that the move away from a London-centric approach would stick.
During the discussion, David Priest, head of regional brokers at Axa personal lines, told the audience that, when Amanda Blanc joined the provider, brokers were telling the company that it was hard to do deals with, overly bureaucratic and emitting confused messages.
