PI Protect takes on ex-Hiscox specialist

Professional Indemnity Protect (PI Protect) has appointed Denise Mercer as underwriting manager reporting to head of underwriting, William Hall.

Ms Mercer brings 34 years' experience to the role. She was previously senior underwriter in the Manchester team of Hiscox having joined the provider in 2006. At Hiscox she was responsible for underwriting professional indemnity and commercial combined.

Prior to this she worked at RSA for five years, reaching the position of ProFin Area Underwriting Manager - North.
