Rural reports substantial growth

Rural Insurance has announced almost 27% growth during the last financial year, Insurance Age can reveal.

Rural managing director, Simon Stevens, highlighted that the Harrogate-based insurer delivered a 45% increase in Ebitda to £2.1m on the back of total GWP of £29m.

The specialist agricultural insurer also revealed that new business GWP grew by 52% year on year to £7.7m.

"I have been running this business for two and a half years but the last twelve months have been the best yet for Rural," said Stevens. "We have significantly outperformed our targets in what continues to be a highly-competitive
