Aviva warns brokers of panel withdrawal over premium finance

Warning sign

Brokers have been urged to be "suspicious" of Aviva's new stance within personal lines which states that the service Finance from Aviva "must be offered as an option" to clients.

Insurance Age has seen three documents, issued by the provider within the last few weeks, which demand that brokers offer Finance from Aviva as an option if it is available.

In the documents Aviva has warned brokers that if its finance offering is not put forward, this will equate to a "breach" of its terms of business and "may lead us to withdrawing from your panel".

It is understood that Aviva is currently the only insurer to insist on this.
