L&G to cut 600 roles
Legal & General is to cut around 600 jobs and has entered into consultation with employee representatives and the Unite union.
The provider confirmed that the dialogue was in relation to “potential redundancies” in Legal & General Assurance Society (LGAS).
LGAS is made up of three segments: insurance, corporate and retail savings. It was created in a restructure of the company which took place in July 2013, formed out of the savings and annuities and protection divisions.
The insurer was unable to provide a breakdown of which parts of the company would be affected by the job losses.
