Willis Re estimates St Jude storm will cost insurers £500m
Company analyses damage across the UK.
Tim Edwards, executive director at Willis Re UK has confirmed that the company's own research for UK insureds has put their St Jude storm bill "in the region of £300-500m".
The storm hit the UK on 28 October with gusts of wind recorded as high as 99 mph.
"Losses from the storm were concentrated predominantly in the South of England, with significant damage coming from fallen trees - which were heavily laden with leaves because of the time of year, fallen tiles and smashed windows," stated
