Hester appointed CEO at RSA

Stephen Hester

RSA Insurance has appointed Stephen Hester as group chief executive on an annual salary of £950,000 excluding performance bonuses.

Hester, formerly chief executive at RBS Group, has replaced Simon Lee who resigned in December 2013 following issues at the provider's operations in Ireland.

At the time of his departure Lee's annual salary was £824,000.

The insurer's new CEO brings over 30 years' experience in financial services in roles including CEO of British Land and chief operating officer and finance director of Abbey National.
