Insurer trade body urged FCA to adopt a more "market-specific approach".
The Association of British Insurers has branded the regulator's probe into general insurance add-on products as "surprisingly generic".
The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) today proposed a shake-up of the market as part of a critical review of add-ons.
A selection of broker compliance experts welcomed the study, with one telling Insurance Age it was as "good news for good brokers, but bad news for bad brokers".
