LV aims for commercial growth as motor market remains difficult

GI boss O'Roarke sets sights on increasing commercial footprint.

LV suffered a “disappointing year” in 2013, according to John O’Roarke, general insurance managing director, speaking after the insurer published its annual results.

“It’s the first year where premium written hasn’t grown,” he explained.

“We did grow the business in terms of customer numbers but actually got less premium from it, it’s been a challenging year in terms of the bottom line.”

However, O’Roarke claimed that there was “nothing in the results that I’m unhappy with”, because the reasons
