Amlin reports drop in half-year profit
Provider hails “good returns” in competitive trading environment.
Amlin has declared a drop in pre-tax profits to £148.5m for the first six months of 2014, down from £161.4m in the first half of 2013.
The provider's gross written premium was broadly stable at £1.89bn (H1 2013: £1.84bn) as the combined operating ratio came in at 87%, up two percentage points on the same period of the year before.
