A-Plan aiming to top 150 branches

Broker's chief exec confirms that private equity backer is looking at exit options.

A-Plan is targetting up to 85 new branches, Insurance Age has learned.

The firm opened four new branches in the year ended February 2014, taking the total number to 72.

Carl Shuker, the broker's chief executive, said: "We have identified other towns and there are probably another 100 sites for us to go for. But it's about finding the right place and the right people.

"Of the 100, there are a good 80 to 85 that would be good A-Plan sites."

He added: "We are not going to say we will double in size
