Ecclesiastical appoints group programme director

Jonathan Phillips will take on the newly created role at the specialist insurance group.

Ecclesiastical has appointed Jonathan Phillips as new group programme director.

Phillips has worked in the insurance industry for over 25 years and has held programme delivery and change management as well as marketing and communications positions at a number of organisations, including Aviva, Hiscox and Aon.

At Ecclesiastical he will report to group chief executive officer Mark Hews and lead the company's group-wide strategic change programme.

Industry reacts to discount rate change

Insurance industry specialists have welcomed the government moving the personal injury discount rate to 0.5% with PwC calculating it will lower motor premiums by £50 on average.
