Huw Evans to replace Otto Thoresen as ABI leader

New director general will take up post in February 2015.

Huw Evans will succeed Otto Thoresen as director general of the Association of British Insurers (ABI) in February in 2015.

The insurer trade body confirmed that the move will coincide with Thoresen becoming chairman of the National Employment Savings Trust (NEST).

Thoresen, previously chief executive of Aegon UK, joined the ABI as director general in April 2011 having served on the board since 2005.

Huw Evans is currently deputy director general of the ABI and leads the association's policy work
