Amlin UK’s GWP drops 4.5%

Group’s premium figure rises 4.2%.

Amlin UK has reported a 4.5% fall in gross written premiums to £257.4m for the first three quarters of 2014.

The drop from £269.9m in the same period of 2013 came as the group's overall GWP rose 4.2% to £2.29bn (9M 2013: £2.2bn).

In its trading update for the nine months to 30 September the provider stated that UK fleet motor rates had continued to rise, with an average increase of 5.7% in the first nine months. It added that most other UK commercial classes had seen more modest increases.
