Hastings brings in Biemer on underwriting
New recruit transfers to company from the US.
Hastings Direct has appointed Ed Biemer as managing director, underwriting services.
He has joined from US insurer Allstate, the largest publicly held personal lines property and casualty insurer in the United States, and will report directly to the group chief executive, Gary Hoffman.
At Allstate, which he joined in 1999, Biemer undertook a number of senior roles, rising to senior vice president for auto, based in Chicago.
