Aon delivers $1.4bn in profit

Aon has reported profits of $1.4bn [£912m] for 2014, up 26% on the $1.11bn achieved the year before.

Group revenues came in at $12.02bn, a 2% rise on the $11.79bn delivered in 2013. The firm said it had seen organic growth of 3% but this had been offset in part by a 1% impact from foreign currency movements.

The broker did not provide a breakdown for UK figures.

However the risk solutions unit delivered revenues of $7.81bn for the 12 months (2013: $7.76bn) with a 7% rise in operating

FSCS gives first insight on increasing levy to £394m

The Financial Services Compensation Scheme has indicated its levy for 2025/26 will rise to £394m from £265m this financial year as it cited having lower surpluses to carry forward and offset bills – a factor that has benefited brokers for two years in a row.
