Philip Smith wins €1.25m from RSA for unfair dismissal
Former RSA Ireland chief executive Smith wins constructive dismissal case following his resignation in November 2013.
RSA has been ordered to pay former Ireland CEO Philip Smith €1.25m [£900,000] for constructive dismissal, RTÉ has reported.
The decision was made by the Employment Appeals Tribunal in Dublin and is understood to be the largest unfair dismissals compensation award ever made.
Smith took action against the insurer in January this year, following his resignation from the firm on 28 November 2013 when he left the company without a severance payment.
