GI operating profit in UK falls at Aviva
UK COR improves to 93.2% for first six months of 2015.
Aviva has reported an 11% fall in UK general insurance operating profit to £223m for the first half of 2015 from £251m in the same period of last year.
The decline came despite the provider's combined operating ratio (COR) improving to 93.2% (H1 2014: 94.3%) its best performance in eight years.
The personal lines COR came in at 95.4% while commercial achieved 89.9%.
Gross written premiums at the insurer for the six months ticked up 1% to £2bn (H1 2014: £1.99bn) with personal lines flat at £1
