Allianz counts the cost of Valentine’s Day and highlights some of the more unusual gifts.

Valentine's Day is upon us once again and according to Allianz up to one in four women can expect to receive jewellery from their (unimaginative?) partners. For some this could mean opening the box on an expensive engagement ring. So what are the key Valentine's Day stats?

How much is the jewellery worth?

Allianz Insurance has found that the average cost of an engagement ring is £573 but one in five women can expect to receive a ring costing between £750 to over £3,000.
