NFU Mutual's profit falls 12% to £359m in 2015

Provider's COR improves to 77.5% as general insurance income rises to £1.36bn.

NFU Mutual made a profit of £359m in 2015 down by 12% on the £409m recorded the previous year.

The rural insurer registered a combined operating ratio of 77.5% last year compared to 87.5% in 2014.

A statement from NFU noted that on the general insurance side of the business, (motor, commercial and personal insurance), premium income continued to grow increasing from £1.33bn in 2014 to £1.36bn in 2015.
